Hide and Seek

This animated sequence "Hide And Seek" is the result of very early mornings and long weekends.
It was meant to be a simple lift and throw, demonstrating weight and contact but thanks to the Ed Hooks workshop “Acting for Animators”, which I attended a few months back, I can no longer look at a character without thinking about seven essential acting concepts and the like.

I’m hoping to show this piece to various studios. Hopefully it will help to demonstrate my understanding of 3D software and showcase my character acting and animation skills. It still needs a bit more refinement as it tends to float in some parts and a few timing issues but it’s a big improvement compared to my earlier 3D tests.

Steve.

P.S

sorry about the poor quality.

Weight issues

Still working on this cyc and haven't had a chance to do much work since my last post but the time I did get I focused on weight and looked at shifting the weight form one foot to the other.
What I need to be able to convey is the shifting of weight on a character whom is essential trying to be as light footed as possible!!!

Needs more work

I finally think I'm getting the hang of this 3D thingy!
I spent forever and a day on the previous run cycles, fussing over this and that worked and rework the same files until I had gotten a result that I still wasn't happy with.
But starting fresh with a new rigg and a different cycle, this time just seems to be easier. Not sure if this is due to the fact that I am working with a better rigg or if it's just comes down to having learnt a whole lot in the last few cycles, needless to say animating in 3D has becoming a lot more fun and I can now begin to concentrate on the animation and not the medium.
